LADY LESHURR

One of the best rappers out there today. Period.
LADY LESHURR. Pure fire.
People are predicting that UK Grime will finally break America in 2016.
ABOUT TIME! 10 years over due. Better late than never, Leshurr.

COIL- 'Backwards'

I'm in joy joy, listening to the newly released 'Backwards', COIL'S attempted follow up to their 1990 masterful 'Love's Secret Domain', which was never fully completed, until now... Drop your existence, this is worthy of faint. This is everything I love about everything. Equal parts brutal, equal parts gentle.

Mo-Dettes 'White Mice' rare VHS video

One of my favourite songs.
Somehow I've never seen this rare video! Shot in '79.
This band was way too underrated. Hugs xxx

KLEENEX - 'Ain't You'

Late '78 Swiss post-punk that got me through my early 20's.
'Ain't You' was their first single. An anthem, in my eyes.
Kleenex went on to become LiLiPUT.
Essential.

OCCULT CHEMISTRY- Fire

D E S T R OY / C R E A T E

A one off band/art project. Things last a legacy, then they... not so much end as enter taint. Leaving a mark on the future.

FORBIDDEN GAMES (1952)

A young orphaned French girl befriends the son of a poor farmer, and together they try and come to terms with the realities of death.

I was trying to track down the name of this film for about a year. I saw it many years ago and loved it, but it was during a period where I watched crazy amounts of film, so the details got lost somewhere inside my brain. But today I was reminded of the name! It's one of my favourites.
'Forbidden Games'. A film by See it if you get the chance to. It's hard to get.

Trans-X 'Living on Video'

Simply one of the greatest songs of all time.
Also, I want a Roland SH-101 keytar!

Trans-X were, song conceptually, on point. The themes on their '83 record 'Living on Video' were indicative of the new technological booms of the time as well as being sweet future trips.
For example, a song written in the 80's called  'Through the Eyes of the 90's'.
The rest of the record wasn't as solid as this single, but still, it does what it does well.

SMOG- Bathysphere

I listened to this today and cried.
Probably my favourite Smog song, off my favourite Smog record.

W I L D  L O V E

Heartbreaking. Beautiful.

MINISTRY -Thieves

I love Ministry dearly. 'Twitch' is one of my favourite records, hands down, and I love all the crushing guitar records that came after that. 'A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste', 'Psalm 69'. Fuck.
I'll be seeing Ministry live for the second time, in a couple of weeks. And I was recently fortunate enough to meet Al. Also, if you haven't read his autobiography, you should. It's brutal. It's Rock N' Roll shenanigans amplified by infinity. And, he's a really great writer. His debauched antics put anyone and everyone to shame. He's an extremely unique being, tapped into other worlds and higher levels of consciousness, for sure.
MMINISTRYY.

Annie Anxiety: Hello Horror, Live 1980

An absolutely mind blowing performance of 'Hello Horror', by Annie Anxiety, in 1980.

Annie Anxiety, aka Little Annie is a New York born singer, songwriter, painter, poet, writer, performing and recording artist, pastor and stage actor.
When she was a teenager, her band 'Annie and the Asexuals' played shows at Max's Kansas City. She went on to work with Crass, Coil, Current 93, Nurse With Wound and others.
An extensive career spanning many mediums, by a very interesting woman. Thank you.

H O N E Y B A N E - Girl On the Run

HONEY BANE! Formed her first band 'Fatal Microbes' in 1978 when she was 14 years old. She's been in bands ever since. She's also played and sung on other bands' records, like Crass and Killing Joke. "Turn Me Off, Turn Me On", which leaned more towards new wave, made it to to the UK charts in the 80's. She's a true punk heroine, hands down.
Major salute to you, Honey Bane.

LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH- Dance With Me

When I get married, this will be one of my three wedding songs.
The other two: 'You You' by Malaria! and 'Mr. Clarinet' by The Birthday Party.
Now, who will be the perfect bride that lets me have my way? ;)

Soma Holiday- Shake Your Molecules

One of the greatest songs ever written.
"Shake your molecules/ shake your particles"- a truly great hook.

Soma Holiday was a Franco-American duo based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn back in the early 1980s. This song was released in '84. You can hear early American electro hip hop's influence all over this. Infused with a French New Wave sensibility, this is a gem of a jam.
